The Altai Accentor breeds in the mountains of Central Asia and moves into the Himalayas outside the breeding season. It feeds on rocky slopes, often in flocks.
Adults have a grey, dark-streaked head, a chestnut back with darker streaks, and a white throat marked with black spots. The sexes look alike.
It searches for food on rocky slopes and among crevices. In winter it descends to lower valleys in the Himalayas, where flocks may gather.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
