This relatively long-tailed bushtit occurs in Myanmar’s Chin Hills. A 2014 Natmataung survey recorded it in pine and evergreen oak forest.
Its tail is relatively longer than in Aegithalos iouschistos and A. niveogularis; the plumage pattern and colours resemble related forms.
During 5–7 April 2014, it was recorded in both pine and evergreen oak forest in Natmataung National Park.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
