The Galapagos Penguin is a small penguin found only on the Galapagos Islands. It lives and breeds there year-round in the tropics.
It is one of the world's smaller penguins. The Galapagos Conservation Trust lists an average size of about 49 cm.
It nests in caves and crevices in coastal lava. An agile swimmer, it mainly eats small fish that school in cool water, including anchovies.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
