This leaf-nosed bat is reported only from Makira Island in the Solomon Islands. Survey records are limited, and the 2016 study captured only a small sample.
The five individuals measured in the 2016 study had a mean forearm length of 66.96 mm (SD 0.78 mm) and mean wing length of 160.26 mm (SD 3.79 mm).
The call guide reports records in caves near Ngorangora and bats flying along the river between Kirakira and Bwaunasugu. A separate acoustic survey detected it only in secondary forest and cacao plots, but its sites and sample are limited.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
