This jay is marked by a bright blue crown and a white band. It lives in Central American cloud forests and moves through the canopy in small groups.
Its crown and nape are bright blue. The head, neck, and upper breast are black, while the lower body is dark purplish blue; a white band separates the blue from the darker areas.
It forages in the forest canopy for seeds, berries, and small dead animals. It moves in groups of about five to ten and gives warning calls when alarmed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
