The Black-billed Gull is a slender gull found only in New Zealand. It breeds on gravelly riverbeds and uses rivers or coasts at different times of year.
Breeding adults have a white head and body, pale silver-gray wings and back, and a black bill and legs. In flight, a white leading edge shows on the wing.
During breeding, it feeds mainly on invertebrates from rivers and nearby pasture, and also takes small fish. After breeding, many move to the coast and feed on fish and marine invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
