The Orinoco agouti is recorded from Venezuela's Orinoco Delta and uses the forest floor while foraging.
Like other agoutis, it has a compact body, strong hind legs, and a short tail.
It searches on the ground for fruit and seeds and may carry food away to hide it.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
