The Taiwan Liocichla is endemic to Taiwan and uses the understory of mid-elevation forest. In winter it also moves into lower forests.
The sexes are similar and olive-colored, with a pale forehead, a black eye-stripe, and an orange-yellow spot just below and ahead of the eye. The tail tips are white except for the central pair.
It eats fruit and insects, foraging in dense, shaded understory. In winter it also uses lowland secondary and broadleaf forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
