This flycatcher is recorded on Sulawesi. It forages in forest mid-levels and among remnant trees in cacao-growing landscapes.
It is gray-brown with strong dark streaks across the breast and flanks. The throat is pale with fine dark marks, the center of the belly is white, and the bill tip is hooked.
It forages in the middle levels of forest; at one study site it was seen at different levels in remnant trees among cacao plantations. One examined stomach contained insect parts and seeds, but their usual dietary proportions are unknown.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
