The Black Butcherbird has deep bluish-black plumage and a large silver-grey bill. It occurs in rainforests, mangroves, and nearby open or settled areas.
The plumage is almost entirely deep bluish-black, apart from the large silver-grey bill with a black tip.
It is active by day, and pairs hold permanent territories. It eats small animals, crustaceans, and insects, and may impale prey on a branch for later use.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
