This medium-sized bird's male has a black facial mask, and the species catches insects in flight. It wanders through dry regions and sometimes forms flocks.
The male has a black face and throat forming a mask edged by a white crescent. Pale tips make a light band on the tail, while the female's mask is greyish.
It travels in pairs or small groups and can form larger flocks while moving. Birds dart from a perch to catch flying insects; adults also drink nectar.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
