This account follows the Bulloo subspecies described by the New South Wales government. Records along the lower Bulloo River are associated with wetlands of dense tall vegetation.
It is pale grey to cinnamon, with black and white lines on the head that give the face a mask-like pattern. Females and young are slightly paler.
It uses tall lignum mixed with grasses and sedges for cover and foraging. Its diet consists mainly of insect larvae and adult insects, with water snails also recorded.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
