The Streaked Saltator is a resident of parts of Central America and northern and western South America. A reserve species account describes it feeding on both plant and animal foods around woodland edges, gardens, and regenerating farmland.
It is about 19–20 cm long. The crown is greenish grey, the back and closed wings look olive green, and a pale line runs above the eye.
The reserve account lists ants and beetles as well as seeds, flowers, buds, and fruit in its diet. It uses regenerating farmland, wooded gardens, and forest edges, and is reported less often in deep forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
