This large cotinga inhabits humid Andean montane forest. A Peru account describes a localized record on the eastern slope, and a paper reports a study site in central Colombia.
It is about 32 cm long and mostly gray, with brownish undertail coverts.
It perches in the middle story of humid montane forest and eats insects and hanging fruit. At one central Colombian study site, researchers recorded several males displaying at a lek, including wing movements and a low mechanical sound.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
