This sunbird uses wooded habitats near water in Central Africa and takes nectar and fruit. A study in the Republic of the Congo documented several adults feeding young both before and after they fledged.
Two newly fledged juveniles observed in the Republic of the Congo were olive-green above, with yellow eyebrows, throat and breast, a very short yellow tail with a black terminal band, and orange gape.
In one Republic of the Congo observation, four grown birds provisioned nestlings and continued feeding them after fledging. Of 19 food deliveries identified, 18 were arthropods and one was a green berry.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
