This small forest kingfisher occurs in the central Solomon Islands. The account includes the Bougainville form pallidus, formerly treated as a separate species, within C. meeki; it says little is known of nominate meeki’s natural history.
Adults of the nominate form meeki are dark blue above and pale buff-orange to yellow below, with a white throat, black bill, and yellow legs and feet.
The account describes it as a tiny forest kingfisher, but says that little is known about the natural history of nominate meeki.
