This blackbird occurs in Chile and Argentina. It uses woodland, scrub, fields, and towns, and searches on the ground for small animals and plant foods.
It is black overall, with a long, pointed black bill. The throat feathers have pointed tips that give the area a scaly look.
It eats insects and larvae as well as seeds, fruit, and nectar. Small groups have been observed walking over the ground while feeding.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
