Bartel's Flying Squirrel is a nocturnal gliding squirrel recorded in forests of western Java. Its white underside and broad, furry tail are distinctive.
The upper fur is brown to yellowish brown and the belly is white. The muzzle and eye area are black, a dark tuft marks each cheek, and the broad tail is covered in long fur.
It is nocturnal and arboreal. It has been recorded in tropical forest with large trees around Mount Gede Pangrango, while detailed biology remains poorly known.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
