The Banded Bay Cuckoo lives in woodland and gardens from the Indian subcontinent into Southeast Asia. In Singapore, it is known to lay its eggs in the nest of a Common Iora.
Adults have rufous upperparts with black bars, a broad white eyebrow, finely barred white underparts, and a rufous tail with a black band near its tip.
In Singapore it is known to parasitize Common Iora nests; the cuckoo nestling evicts the host's eggs and chicks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
