The Brown Cuckoo-Dove has a long tail and lives in woodland and forest edges in eastern Australia, where it feeds on fruit and seeds.
The male has dark brown head, back, and wings, with green or violet iridescence on the neck. Its breast is reddish; the female shows more dark spots and bars on the head and breast.
Pairs and small groups feed in the lower canopy, understorey, and forest edge. They eat fruit and seeds; most are sedentary, while birds in the south are nomadic.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
