The Crescent-faced Antpitta lives in humid montane forest in Colombia and Ecuador. Few localities are known, and it quietly forages near the forest floor.
The crown and nape are slate-gray, with a large white crescent behind the eye. Below a black throat border are a buff breast, olive-brown back, and whitish belly with black streaks.
It occurs in humid montane undergrowth and secondary woodland at 2,900–3,400 m, feeding on spiders and insects. It forages quietly alone or in pairs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
