The Abyssinian Slaty Flycatcher occurs in the Ethiopian highlands and southern Eritrea. It catches insects from branches in forest and woodland.
The guide describes the adult as slim and long-tailed, dark brown above and grey below. Its eye is pale yellowish, and its grey bill has a blackish tip.
It occurs in upland woodland, forest edges, juniper woods, and coffee plantations, often near streams. It catches insects from the canopy and lower branches, sometimes darting down to the ground after one.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
