The Alaotran gentle lemur is a small lemur with a long tail and dense fur. It lives only in the reed and papyrus wetlands around Lake Alaotra in Madagascar.
Its coat is dense and woolly. The tail is about as long as the body, and its features are small and rounded.
It often lives in family groups of a female, a male, and their offspring, and eats papyrus and reeds. It can swim, and mothers may carry their young on their backs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
