The Nilgiri langur lives in the Western Ghats of southern India and mainly eats leaves. Its coat is usually glossy black, with a yellowish-brown head.
Its fur is glossy black to blackish brown, while the crown, nape, and cheek whiskers range from yellowish brown to golden.
A study in a forest fragment of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve reported that leaves were the main food and that the langurs spent much of their time resting.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
