The Striped Cuckoo ranges from southern Mexico into a broad part of South America. It is brown with a crest and lays its eggs in the nests of other birds.
Adults are mostly brown, with a shaggy crest and black streaks on the back. The long gray-brown tail has white tips.
It is solitary and active by day, usually staying among shrubs. It mainly eats insects such as grasshoppers, and females lay eggs in other birds' nests for the hosts to raise.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
