The coppery ring-tailed possum lives in forests and scrub of interior New Guinea. It climbs and is active at night, feeding on leaves and other plant parts.
The upper fur may be gray or brown and can be very dark. The underside ranges from white or yellowish to nearly as dark as the back; the tail tip can curl into a ring.
It climbs, is nocturnal, and moves slowly and quietly. It uses rainforest, woodland, and scrub habitats and eats leaves, fruits, flowers, bark, and sap.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
