The Swallow-tailed Bee-eater is a bee-eater with a deeply forked tail. It waits in savanna woodland and catches insects in flight.
It has green upperparts, a yellow throat, a narrow blue band across the throat, a black eye stripe, and a deeply forked blue tail.
It makes short flights from a perch to catch bees and other insects, then beats prey against the perch. Both sexes excavate tunnels in low sandy banks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
