This mouse-tailed bat is known from coastal Hadramaut in southeastern Yemen. Its fur is gray to grayish brown, and adults have a broad yellowish-brown collar across the throat and upper chest. The 2009 original description reports one known colony in an uninhabited building near Ash Sheher.
The dorsal and ventral fur is gray to grayish brown. Adults have a broad yellowish-brown collar on the throat and front of the chest. The noseleaf is relatively high and trapezoid-shaped from the front; the tail is relatively short for the group.
The original description reports a colony of about 150 in an uninhabited building on the outskirts of Ash Sheher, at about 65 m elevation. The authors said more study was needed to establish its distribution and ecology; this single colony does not reveal its full population or usual natural roosts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
