This small tyrant flycatcher lives in Peru's montane forests. Its yellow face, eyebrow, and washed-yellow underparts stand out as it forages high in the forest.
At about 11 cm, it has an olive-gray mantle, dark crown, yellow face with broad yellow lores, and mostly yellowish underparts. Yellow and dark feather edges create a patterned folded wing.
It forages in the canopy and subcanopy of humid montane forest. Aves de Perú describes it as fairly common on the northern and central eastern Andean slopes of Peru.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
