About 10 cm long, it has a short black bill, a pale iris, a gray crown, and a white line above the eye. Its back is olive, the wings have yellow edges, and the underside is pale gray.
It usually forages high in dense foliage and eats mistletoe, berries, and small insects. It also uses forest borders and second-growth woodland.
