This bat is endemic to Cuba. It has long, thick golden-yellow fur and a short, broad muzzle.
Its muzzle is wide and short, and its fur is thick, long, and golden yellow.
The Cuban species account says little is known about its biology. It reports Thrinax palm leaves as the only known roost and lists insects as food. This is a record of what has been documented, not proof that no other roosts exist.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
