This civet relative has a black tail and hairless soles. It lives in equatorial forests beside streams, and is believed to eat fish.
Its body fur ranges from rusty to dull red, with a black tail and elongated white marks between and above the eyes. The soles are hairless, and the tail is not ringed.
Few scientific reports describe live animals in the wild. Fish are considered an important food because fish bones and a catfish were found in one collected animal's stomach.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
