The lesser grison is a slender mustelid found in parts of South America. It has a yellowish-brown back, a darker underside and a pale facial band whose pattern varies among individuals.
The back mixes yellowish brown and black, while the underside is dark. The white band from the face toward the shoulders can be narrow or nearly absent.
It may be active by day or night and is usually solitary. It shelters in rock crevices or burrows made by other animals and hunts small prey.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
