This bird lives in upland rainforest in northeastern Queensland. During the breeding season, the male courts on a display court arranged with leaves.
It is stocky and olive brown, with brown streaks on pale underparts. Notches on the edge of the lower bill help it feed on leaves.
It feeds mainly on fruit, also taking flowers, leaves, and arthropods. In the September–January breeding season, the male arranges green leaves with their pale undersides facing up on a display court.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
