The Mongolian Short-toed Lark is a small lark that breeds in dry sandy steppe in eastern Mongolia. It has brown upperparts and warm rufous-buff on the sides of the breast.
Adults have darker, browner upperparts, warm rufous-buff on the sides of the breast and flanks, and a pale buff-tinged belly. Plumage wear changes how the colors appear.
Breeding begins in early May in Mongolia. The ground nest is placed beneath tall grass or a low shrub.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
