The Western Quail-thrush lives on stony hills and low acacia ridges in western Australia, walking on the ground to forage. Males and females differ in breast pattern.
The male has a white eyebrow and streak beside a black throat, a reddish-brown upper breast, black lower breast, cinnamon-yellow flanks and white belly. The female has a grey breast with a rufous wash.
It prefers low acacia-covered ridges and slowly walks on the ground for insects, spiders and seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
