This bat has reddish dark-brown fur and feeds on flying insects. Its records are separated between northern and southeastern South America, and southern specimens have tended to be smaller than northern ones.
A specimen from southeastern Brazil had reddish dark-brown dorsal fur, a cinnamon-brown underside, a flattened muzzle, and rounded, separated ears. Comparisons also found a size difference between northern and southern sample groups.
It is reported as an aerial insectivore. In southeastern Brazil it has been captured in peri-urban areas and in a fragmented landscape.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
