The Australian humpback dolphin lives in shallow coastal waters of northern Australia and southern Papua New Guinea. It has a hump in front of the dorsal fin, and its color varies with age and population.
A hump sits at the base of the dorsal fin. Population color ranges from white to pink to gray, and the forehead, beak, and dorsal fin become paler with age.
It uses shallow inshore waters, including river mouths, mangroves, tidal channels, and nearshore reefs. It feeds on a variety of fish and sometimes crustaceans.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
