A tiny monkey of gallery forests in the upper Amazon region. It feeds mainly on tree sap and gum, making small holes in trunks to reach them.
Its back and head are fawn and grey with yellow or black markings. Long facial and neck hair forms a mane-like outline. The tail has black bands and is not prehensile.
Most of its diet consists of plant exudates such as sap, gum, and latex. Large lower incisors and clawed hands and feet help it open trees; insects and fruit are occasional foods.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
