This is a rarely recorded bat from New Guinea. A 2026 report added a locality north of Port Moresby after the 2014 rediscovery record.
Its English common name calls it the New Guinea Big-eared Bat. The accessible abstract of the 2026 paper does not give ear or body measurements, so no size ratio is added here.
One bat was captured at Abau in 2014. A 2026 paper reported another at Kuriva Forestry Station and provided the first description of the species’ echolocation call.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
