The Blue Petrel is a small seabird with a blue-gray back, a dark eye mask, and a white belly. It feeds at sea and carries food to its chick at a breeding site.
Its back is blue-gray, with a dark pattern around the eyes. The belly is white, and the tail has a broad white tip. The sexes look much alike.
It eats crustaceans and fish at sea. In a study of adults carrying food to chicks on South Georgia, crustaceans such as krill were common, and fish was also eaten.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
