A small, grey wren studied along the Brazilian side of the Javari River. The detailed published observations cover five territories and do not establish the species’ full range.
It is grey overall, slightly paler below than above, with a whitish-grey throat. A long pale eyebrow begins just in front of the eye; the bill is relatively large and the tail short.
All five territories found were in várzea or transitional forest on the Brazilian side of the Javari River. The wrens foraged in dense vine tangles and also inspected the bases of Philodendron leaves along trunks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
