The Italian Sparrow occurs in towns and rural areas in Italy and uses places close to people. Males and females differ in head markings, and the birds nest in gaps in buildings and similar sites.
Males show a grey crown and chestnut nape, while females are mainly brown. Head and cheek markings differ between the sexes.
It builds a grass nest in gaps in buildings, tree cavities, and similar sites, and eats seeds as well as insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
