The Three-toed Jacamar occurs in southeastern Brazil. It has fine golden-buff markings on its head, a green gloss on its dark tail, and three toes on each foot.
Its head is chestnut, with fine golden-buff lines on the forehead, around the eyes, and on the throat. The back and graduated tail are black with a green gloss; the center of the breast and belly are white. Each foot has three toes.
Groups of about 2–10 perch in trees or shrubs and make short sallies after flying insects, often returning to a perch. They use semi-deciduous forest and forest edges, especially near rivers or earthen banks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
