A small sunbird of tropical Africa. The male has metallic green on the head and back.
The male has metallic green on the head, mantle, back, cheek and throat, with a greyish-brown rump.
It uses montane heath, sometimes descending to low elevations. It feeds on nectar, insects and spiders; it forages alone or in pairs during breeding and may join groups at other times.
