Davy's naked-backed bat is a small bat whose wing membranes attach along the middle of its back. It catches moths over water and can drink while flying.

• Thomas's Naked-backed Bat Pteronotus (Pteronotus) fulvus

This bat is recorded from Mexico south to Honduras. It uses lowland tropical dry forest and roosts in hot caves.

• Big Naked-backed Bat Pteronotus (Pteronotus) gymnonotus

Its wing membranes reach the middle of its back, making the dorsum look bare. This medium-sized bat catches insects in open areas and gallery forests and often roosts in large, hot, humid caves.
