- Northern Kudu Strepsiceros chora
Strepsiceros chora is the northern kudu form recorded from Somaliland and Abyssinia. A 1908 account describes a greyer-fawn coat, about five white stripes on each side, and more mountainous, less densely wooded habitat than in the southern form.
- Western Kudu Strepsiceros cottoni
This kudu is documented by a Congo specimen and a sighting in Zakouma National Park, Chad. The Congo horn record is long and spiraled; in Zakouma, one encounter involved a male following a female with a calf in thick bush.
