Norwegian Elkhound Grey

Temperament
Friendly, Confident, Dependable
[4]Background and human relationship
A Norwegian hunting Spitz associated with tracking elk and other game. English-language Norwegian Elkhound standards describe the grey breed, distinct from FCI’s Black Norwegian Elkhound.
[1]Build and coat
A medium compact square Spitz with a thick abundant coat, erect ears and a tightly curled tail. Dense stand-off hair shapes the outline rather than long flowing furnishings.
[2]Colour and comparisons
Grey shades arise from black-tipped guard hairs. Chest, belly, legs and tail underside are lighter, while muzzle and ears are dark; a lighter harness area crosses shoulder to elbow.
