The Northern White-faced Owl is a nocturnal owl of dry savanna and open woodland in sub-Saharan Africa. It occurs in both light and dark plumage morphs.
Dark feathers frame its facial disc, and it has ear-like tufts. Both light and dark morphs occur.
It hunts insects and small vertebrates at night and roosts by day concealed in foliage or thorny shrubs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
