A sandgrouse of dry country, with plumage that blends into rocks and gravel. It may shelter in shade during the day.
Its plumage is well camouflaged among rocks and gravel; it may wait until a disturbance is close before flushing.
It is thought to be more active at night and gathers in small groups at water shortly before sunrise and after sunset. It lays eggs in a shallow scrape on stony or gravelly ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
